Why?
The answer to the question you've all been waiting for...why? Why did Angelic Serenity close? Well, there are numerous answers for this, but what the staff have decided upon is the fact that the site was feeling more like a "chore" instead of a casual activity we do for fun. Yes, we are still online (and alive xD), so you can still email us. Kathy is working on her blog which consists has a request service (meaning that you can still request graphics made by her). Kina has a blog with some goodies, like icons. Kei is still part of Serenity and her blog can be accessed here. Kathy's blog is still under construction, so if you would like to see it when it's done, you may drop by Kina or Kei's blog and she should be under the "blog buddies" or "bloggerheads" section.
Dramatic Speeches
The staff at AS have actually taken the time to write dramatic speeches about why the site closed down. Here they are:Kina's Speech: I bet you are all expecting me to be crying(as expected by the dramatic one..), I really hoped the site would last longer but I've realized I've been TOTALLY neglecting this site and making Kei and Kathy do all the work, and I'M THE WEBMISTRESS! That made me realize I'm NOT ready to be totally in control. I don't even really get FTP!! My goal after this site is to keep going down the road and learn more about HTML and coding and deisgning and it has been all from the start. I wanted to learn and be around people who were sophisticated and I jumped at the chance for this succesful site. But all I've been doing is reading xxxHolic and Shugo Chara instead. After this I will make a new site with Kathy for FUN. And maybe even get better at HTML and start a new site... maybe. But this all depends on how I keep in touch and how focused I am to learn.
Kei's Declamation: It was expected. This site has got my total disregard for some time now; after I have become to uninspired to do much for it. Instead of designing, lately, I have been engrossed in my manga (like always) and helping others code their sites. I have been more active in my other sites and got into blogging. All in all, I shall be around the web if anyone needs me, as Kathy had mention, on my blog and many other places. I will also be opening a collective some time soon, as well as a PNG archive, that will house the many transparent renders I have extracted here and in the future. Kathy's Speech: It really has been quite a fun time here at Angelic Serenity. It took me a while to understand what my goal was in this online design thing. I ended up with one answer: fun. Sure, it was fun making graphics and all, but I couldn't take it as a "job". What I'm saying is that this would be a good PART-TIME job, but not a FULL-TIME job. My blog will consist of my rants on daily life, some articles, and a request service. The request service will satisfy the "urge to make graphics" and the articles will hopefully make me write more. Kina and I are also thinking of doing a contest site so that we will still be able to make graphics and stay together. I'm hoping that if Kei accepts, we won't fall into the same trap that we did with this site, so we'd have to be very careful. Until Kei accepts, nothing has been decided, so don't expect anything yet xD If this idea does get accepted, you'll probably find it in one of our blogs. I wish you all a good summer, and I'll miss you :( Bye~
